Phoenix Godwin is my real name. I'm 17, I have a sucky series on Youtube called "Playing With Toys", and I have alot of great flash ideas without the slightest ideas of how to use the program. I wish something could be done about that last one...

The Savior (battle)

"A great concept!"

date: December 24, 2008

This game has what it takes to be something great, however I find it to be lacking somewhat.
First, the biggest problem I had was with the music. Such a small music sample (and only a decent one at that) put on a loop is by no means a quality soundtrack, and it definitely brought down the sense of epic scale you appeared to be attempting. The fact that there is no way to turn it off save for completely muting everything adds greatly to this problem.
Other problems I had with it were minor, such as collision detection problems with the floating blocks, and the gems bouncing off of the screen.
Also I'm unsure as to wether or not you can actually get a "game over" on this game. If not, I think that should be rectified, as it lowers the intensity of the game, and along with that there should be a way to recover health (I think your best bet would be having a portion of health replenished for each level up).
All that being said, I think this game has an amazing concept, and is only a few polishing touches away from being an extravagent peice of work. For the most part you've come up with an ingenious way to balance a game that consists of one long boss fight, and I feel that it carries an innovation with it similiar to that of "Shadow of Colassus" or something along those lines.

Great job man, I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with next!

Guns of the Awesome

"Great!"

date: November 25, 2008

This was a very well done flash parody, and while the style is a familiar one, it would obviously be remiss to discount you of any creativity. I only reccomend that you don't include 'awesome' in your title, so as to seperate yourself a bit from Egoraptor. It's one thing to be inspired by him, but is it really necessary to use his signature titling as well?

Author's Response:

You might have a point, but I think it's more of a label to say "This is a parody"; and if I would not include that in the title, I'm sure everyone would hate it for being a rip-off for the content. With this name, your sort of have an excuse for ripping something of. And some like to call that parodies. Haha.

Freezepop's JEM!

"ha! well that was fun."

Albeit a little odd, but alright. It felt like an emotional roller coastal ride, I was amazed by how-- alright, not really, but I did laugh, and I think I even cried a little on the inside.

I do think this flash is underrated though, most likely due to mass homophobia.

And I'm sure a dozen people have asked this prior to me, but I don't feel like scrolling the 800+ of comments to find the answer if you gave it. But what did you have to 'censor'?

The third one was pretty funny too, though obviously not your best. Nice music choice by the way, The Gorillaz have to be one of the greatest bands of all time.

These Are The Boring Bits

"Oh my god..."

date: October 22, 2007

That was amazing! How great of you to grace Newgrounds with the presence of this flash. This simple art style was original, and fun to watch, and necessary because obviously the dialogue is the most important part of this. It was incredibly written, to the point where I didn't want it to end, but when it ended, I felt it had been fulfilled and given good closure. Definitely an amazing look at life's realities. Also, I'm sure you told your voice actors they did a great job, and thanked them thoroughly- but do it again, they were definitely a strong source of the the incredibleness of this piece of art. There's so much I want to say in regards to this, but without the way of saying it. I guess I'll just finish my review by saying "Thank you". Not only am I happy to have viewed this amazing piece of art, but it involves alot of what has been going on in my life lately, and is something I will definitely take to heart.

Portal: The Flash Version

"Dear Lord. That was the most satisfying cake ever."

date: October 19, 2007

I spent all day trying to beat this. Granted, I was doing other stuff throughout the day as well, but finally, I finished it.

The concept, while not your own, is completely original through it's sidescroller layout. Many of the puzzles are challenging, some to an extreme amount, although I never felt hopeless (except once, but I managed to beat it all the same).

There were a few times where I would glitch in a weird way, sometimes giving me fortunate results, yet frustratingly enough, sometimes it was the opposite.

All in all this game is a fresh new flash game that succeeds where many have failed, and I do hope you make more.

Another compliment to the fact that you have effectively translated a console game to flash. A rarity in itself, that seems incredibly difficult to pull off. I suggest seeing what else you can do along those lines...

5/5 man. Great game.

That was incredible man!

I think the low animation quality perfectly matched the flash, the 'writing' was hilariouse, and the whole flash was just simply amaazing. Great job man!

Sviborg Game

"It looks really cool, but..."

submission: Sviborg Game
date: September 16, 2007

For some reason I can't shoot. I do the left click, but nothing happens, Sviborg just keeps floating around...

Ack! what do I do?

You should update it so I can play. Maybe make it so the space bar is an alternative to clicking?
